Published Sunday July 31

The temperature tantrum in Northern CA this past week left a lot of vacationers with their tongues out looking for a swimming hole.

Some swimming spots are great. Some, well, not so great. To find water to jump in alone does not always float one’s boat.

At one point late last week, it was 115 degrees at Shasta Lake, and in a cove, the water temperature was 84 degrees. You could jump in the lake and actually keep sweating while in the water.
