Published Saturday July 2

SANTA ROSA — The Santa Rosa fire department along with other Bay Area cities are reminding residents that the use of fireworks are banned for the upcoming holiday.

According to the Santa Rosa fire department, both “safe and sane” and perilous fireworks pose a threat to the nearby wildlife area. Vegetation fire can result with the use of fireworks.

In a statement provided by the fire department, anyone caught using fireworks could receive a citation anywhere from $500 to $1,000 dollars, and even a plausable arrest given the circumstance.
